Too Soon
Too soon
He arrives
That clever
Pickpocket
Of time,
Too soon
Years
Melt into the past, and
Turn to countless
Decades,
Too soon
Tight skin wilts,
Velvety smoothness
Gathers lines, and
Hair turns gray,
Too soon
The Sun shines
Less brightly,
The days and
Months fade away,
Too soon
Life ends.
