Robert Laughlin - Three Poems

And Pins Are on the House

Turn down my subs, all you people who edit.
My voodoo doll company lends me unlimited credit.

Concerning Rewrite Requests

“I have written what I have written.”
A policy plain to see:
if it’s good enough for Pontius,
it’s good enough for me.

On the Anniversary of My Submission

Dear Editor, I’d like to know what law
of science says that in the time it takes
the Earth to make a circuit of the Sun,
an impulse in your brain cannot traverse
a neural synapse just a micron wide
to trigger a decision, yes or no.

Robert Laughlin lives in Chico, California. His poems have appeared in Bryant Literary Review, Camroc Press Review, elimae, The Orange Room Review and Pearl. His website is at www.pw.org/content/robert_laughlin.
