Dr. Roger Singer - One Poem

More Than Water

eyes at the shoreline
observe a wide body
without arms or legs
to push or pull,
provide answers,
wisdom or guidance

as crested whitecaps
dislodge seaweed
from depths
and broken parts of
mountains lay scattered
on abysmal plains,
lost souls
sleep without voice

Dr. Singer is the Poet Laureate of Old Lyme, Connecticut.  He has had over 1,100 poems published on the internet, magazines and in books and is a 2017 Pushcart Prize Award Nominee.  He is also the President of the Shoreline Chapter of the Connecticut Poetry Society.
